Rug Washing

Windmill Feeds understands how valuable your horse rugs are to you and your horse’s welfare.  Consequently we keep all rug washing within Windmill Feeds, using commercial washing machines and top branded washing products giving your horse rug a new lease of life when it is washed and reproofed.  Windmill Feeds operates its horse rug washing service from its Uckfield branch.  It uses a commercial washing machine, programmed by the manufacturer to give the best results and a purpose built drying room.  The machine is capable of handling fly rugs and numnahs through to the largest hooded rug with consummate ease.

Drop them at any Windmill Feeds branch.

For your convenience, rugs can be dropped off at any of our branches, Cross in Hand, Crowborough or Uckfield itself.  They are then delivered to the Uckfield branch on our Windmill Feeds vans by the next working day, and then returned to the branch ready for you to collect once it has been washed.  Your rugs are individually labelled so they can be tracked through the washing service to give you peace of mind.

Over 25 years experience

Linda, who runs the rug washing department has had horses all her life.  She has been washing rugs for over 25 years and understands your needs and requirements.  If you are unsure and need some advice, there is a staff member in each of the branches that would be able to answer you with your rug and rug washing questions or pop into the Uckfield branch and talk to Linda herself.

Efficient Service

With the rugs being washed at Windmill Feeds premises there is no time delay whilst they are sent away for someone else to wash or wait for the weekly collection and delivery.  As soon as the rugs are washed, you will receive a phone call, telling you that they are ready for collection.

Quantity Discounts

If you have a quantity of rugs to be washed and reproofed, Windmill Feeds offer a 5% discount on 5 rugs and 10% discount on 10 or more rugs.

Repair Services

Windmill Feeds also offer a rug repair service for dealing with those missing straps and annoying tears on your horse’s rug and even much larger repairs if it is cheaper than buying a new rug.  Each rug is individually priced for your peace of mind,
