Keeping pets safe during firework season

As the season of firework parties kicks off, its important to take care of your pets to keep them safe and calm.

It can be a worrying time for pet owners of both large and small animals so we have a few tips to help you through this time…

Here are some of our top tips..

• Exercise your pet during daylight hours to avoid excess energy in the evening
• If your pet is caged bring their cage indoors into a garage or shed
• Add extra blankets to your pets bed or safe area
• Close doors and curtains to keep noise to a minimum and keep them indoors
• Put the TV or radio to keep the noise more familiar to your pet
• Don’t shout at your pet if they become distressed as this can only make them more worried
